JBBC President, Stephen ‘Bomber’ Jones Boxing Fraternity:

It is commonly said that it takes about 90 days for one to fully get his feet wet in a new position, but the fact of the matter is that each type of transition presents a distinct set of challenges, and succeeding such a high performing leader as our Immediate Past President, the challenge that I am faced with is taking charge in my own way while preserving what is good about our organisation.

In my first 60 days, while trying to get a handle on the entire boxing fraternity in Jamaica, I’ve encountered various situations which in and of themselves present positive characteristic opportunities upon which I intend to leverage to build momentum. I am fortunate to be surrounded by a very strong core of individuals on the board with whom over the next 30 days with their assistance I will be standing on solid ground overlooking a sport which once again will be working it’s way back to the top.
